This is where the city meets the water

where the Broad  Shoulders meet the shores of Lake Michigan

sometimes in a graceful sloping landscape,

sometimes with concrete like a broken nose,

sometimes in quiet personal solitude,

sometimes in chaotic community.

These are humble notes of a larger song.
